Abby and Pierce’s whimsical fall wedding at The Grand Lady was a perfect blend of modern, organic style and classic elegance. Every detail, from custom attire to sentimental touches and meaningful moments, reflected the couple in a way that felt intentional and personal.
Abby and Pierce’s love story began in a friend’s backyard, just a month after Abby had moved to Denver. Their connection was instant, and not long after, they started dating. Fast forward, and Pierce planned the most thoughtful proposal at the Denver Botanical Gardens—the same spot where they had one of their first dates. Abby thought she was going to a concert with friends, only to be dropped off at the gardens, where Pierce was waiting for her in the pouring rain. It was such a romantic and cinematic moment—their engagement photos looked like something straight out of The Notebook.
When it came time to choose their venue, The Grand Lady stood out for several reasons. First and foremost, they wanted to celebrate with everyone they loved. The Grand Lady was the perfect size for their guest count. Another key factor was the indoor reception space—knowing how unpredictable Texas weather can be, that flexibility was a must. The venue’s timeless beauty and balance of classic and modern charm sealed the deal for their whimsical fall wedding.
One of Abby’s most cherished memories from the day happened just after the ceremony. We made sure the newlyweds were able to share a private moment together with some water and their favorite drinks. That little breather was incredibly special to them, a chance to soak in the moment before jumping into the celebration.
When determining her bridesmaid’s attire, Abby ultimately wanted bridesmaids to feel comfortable in what they wore. We helped curate a cohesive vision by mocking up an example before the ladies began to shop!
There were so many thoughtful details throughout the day. Pierce wore a fully custom suit, thanks to his dad’s work in the custom suit industry. His white dinner jacket had “Abby’s Husband” stitched inside—a surprise that made everyone smile. And Abby, a vintage lover through and through, hunted down the perfect pair of vintage Prada sling back kitten heels. They were her favorite piece of her look!
Abby’s bouquet was especially meaningful. Three small charms were tied to the stems, each holding a piece from her mother’s and both grandmothers’ wedding dresses. It was a subtle but beautiful way to honor the generations of love before her.
Darce Ross, their photographer, was a dream come true. He had done their engagement shoot in Denver, which helped the couple feel totally at ease on the big day. His calm energy and eye for detail were invaluable. The couple was blown away by how many stunning photos they received afterward.
The couple’s ceremony was deeply personal and reflected their faith in a touching way. After exchanging vows, they took communion together—marking their first act as husband and wife with a moment of spiritual connection.
To create the perfect setting for their ceremony, Stems Floral Design crafted organic, whimsical floral arrangements. The aisle was lined with flowers that appeared to grow from the ground. At the altar, white pedestals displayed lush statement arrangements to frame the couple.
When it came to designing their whimsical fall wedding, Abby knew that she wanted a modern, organic vibe that still felt personal and timeless. Incorporating plenty of personal details within a design that felt unique to Abby and Pierce ensured their guests felt like an intimate part of the day.
To bring their wedding vision to life, we utilized various shades of green, cream and ivory, with subtle pops of soft yellow and brown. The florals were the main focal point of the design, closely followed by lots of candle light.
“My biggest advice would be to take it one step at a time and set your intentions for your wedding. Yes, you are having a wedding to get married and celebrate but consider in addition to this why are you having the wedding you’re having. I found this really helps keep one grounded when you are making wedding related decisions.” – Abby, bride
“I had been to a wedding planned by BNCO and thought it was beautiful and so much fun. After the wedding, I knew this would be one of the wedding planner’s I’d reach out to while planning my own wedding. I ended choosing to work with Bianca Nichole and Co, not only because I had seen the diligence and thoughtfulness they carry through their design, but also the organization. I was out of state and in graduate school while planning the wedding, so I need a planner who would help me keep all of the wedding tasks organized. Bianca and her team did an amazing job of helping us keep track of all the small things that help the wedding day go smoothly.
I was surprised by how much there was to consider for the actual wedding day decision-making. I was so grateful Bianca Nichole and Co had thought through delegation for the day of; this helped me be present on my wedding day which was the biggest gift for me.” – Abby, bride
