Donovan Manor

Located 10 miles south of downtown Raleigh, this private estate wedding venue is perfect for colorful weddings! With romantic balconies, iconic curved staircases, and the natural beauty of rose gardens, large oak trees, and a scenic winding creek, every corner is breath taking! The front of the manor is the perfect setting for portraits. Inside, the winding staircase is a great setting for some late-night photos as you head to the bridal suite to bustle your gown or change into a reception dress!

The Details

Setting the tone, Grey Cove Designs created a modern, colorful invitation suite featuring oval cut outs and floral detailing. The sleek table numbers, bold bar menu and romantic vow books matched perfectly.

Reign Beauty crafted a romantic bridal bun, showcasing the corset detailing of the Saint Bridal dress from a&be raleigh. Soft glam bridal makeup was the finishing touch for a modern, whimsical look!

For this colorful garden wedding shoot, we wanted our groom to stand out too. Instead of going with a classic black tux, we opted for a Plum Shawl Tuxedo from The Black Tux. It’s the perfect bold berry shade, while still looking sophisticated and timeless.

Garden Wedding Ceremony Site

After completing hair and makeup, we headed over to the ceremony site. Nestled in front of the 22-foot window wall of the Grand Ballroom, the Rose Garden is perfect for an outdoor ceremony. Featuring real rose gardens and perfectly manicured turf, the space is perfect for a colorful garden wedding! To pop against the lush green, Heritage Floral Design crafted a stunning grounded arch arrangement for ceremony. Whimsical aisle meadows accented the wavy aisle. We chose bright shades of pink, peach, and yellow, with pops of berry, mauve and ivory to add contrast and dimension. The fluffy pink peonies were the star of the show!

Colorful Wedding Reception

Next to the Rose Garden, the Grand Ballroom boasts soaring ceilings with stunning chandeliers. There are beautiful moldings, a built in bar, and a window wall – the perfect backdrop for your head table. To contrast with the clean lines of the window, we organized round tables in a whimsical, serpent shape. Between colorful garden flower centerpieces sat lush clouds of hydrangeas.

It wouldn’t be a colorful garden wedding without patterned linens from BBJ! Blush chinoiserie plates and amber glassware from Curated Events tied the tablescape together.

The indoor-outdoor marble bar is not only perfect for serving drinks, but is a great spot for cakes as well! LB’s Cakes crafted a modern, structural ivory cake that sat in a lush floral meadow. A few blooms on the second tier tied it all together!
