Haley and Angel’s rooftop wedding in downtown Austin is one that will go down in history. We took their dream of a fashion-forward and trendy wedding and brought it to life with bold textures and colors, stunning flowers, interactive details.

The Proposals

Angel secretly booked a photo session with Riley Shea Glenn (who ended up documenting their wedding). The two told Haley that they had won a free session. They had the best time taking photos around the Seaholm District in the heart of downtown Austin. Towards the end of the session, Riley had Angel spin Haley, and as she turned around, Angel was down on one knee! “It was the most special day, and I am so grateful Riley was there to document it,” Haley shared. Nearly a year later, Haley proposed back to Angel at the Zilker Botanical Gardens! “She didn’t expect me to propose back, so she was absolutely shocked. Our close friend was there to capture the moment, and it was so special.”

Rooftop Wedding Venue

There really was no other venue that could’ve met Haley and Angel’s wishes. Not only is The Riley Building a stunning rooftop wedding venue, but it is smack in the middle of the Warehouse District, which is where all the gay bars and clubs are. “Seeing pride flags and the street painted rainbow while standing on the Riley rooftop and getting to head next door to our favorite gay night club right after the party — it was really a no brainer.” The couple also loved the modern, mostly black finishes. The venue’s architecture paired perfectly with the overall wedding design.

The Design

Haley and Angel wanted their wedding day to be modern, unique, fashion-forward, and trendy. When designing their day day, we focused on bold textures and materials, a romantic, red color palette, and personal statement pieces sprinkled throughout the venue. We used heart shaped sunglasses to guide guests to their seats, which doubled as fun dance floor accessories. Each place setting had an interactive menu that was tied shut with custom red ribbon. East Rose Studio even created a custom mirror for guests to have the perfect selfie spot! To bring the neutral venue space to life, Remi & Gold hung stunning, bright flowers above the sweetheart table. The asymmetrical ceremony arch stood out against the rooftop view of downtown Austin. From the outside, their cake was modern and simple. But once they cut into it, guests were surprised with a pop of rainbow layers, showcasing their LGBTQ+ pride. “Every single vendor we booked was absolutely remarkable. There’s no way to pick one favorite because they were all freaking fantastic and worked like a dream together. We could not have possibly chosen a better team.”

Favorite Moments

Haley and Angel both absolutely loved their first touch and private vow reading. Although they didn’t see each other until they walked down the aisle, it was so special getting to hold each other’s hands and take a calming breath together before all the craziness. Another of Haley’s favorites was the reception space reveal. “Getting to see the design vision come to life was a dream come true, and we can’t thank our incredible vendors enough for making it all happen,” Haley said. Before heading up to their rooftop wedding ceremony, Bianca brought Haley down to the decorated reception space to see it before her guests did. Seeing her reaction to the design we had worked on together was one of our favorite parts of the day, too!
