Leah and Will’s elegant wedding at Woodbine Mansion features bold shades of pink, personal touches and tons of sophistication. The couple set the tone before wedding day with custom welcome boxes, full of Austin themed favorites adorned with their custom wedding crest. To kick off wedding day, Leah had her mom’s veil remade into a robe for her to get ready in. From there, their personalities shown in private moments of love and worship, cotton-candy topped champagne, a surprise dance between the bride and her mom, and even custom 12th man towels from A&M for send-off. Leah and Will’s elegant wedding was of course beautiful, but also full of so much meaning.
Leah and Will grew up in the same town, went to the same high school, and both went to Texas A&M, but did not meet until working at a Christian summer camp in 2018. It took them several years to finally cross paths, and even a few more before becoming friends and eventually dating. A couple years later, Will’s internship was cancelled, which led him back to another summer at camp. It was that summer, where they worked side by side, that their friendship grew from occasional conversations to going out on their first date. They’ve been together ever since, and both work full-time at that same summer camp now!
In April of 2021, Will had planned a special date night at their favorite restaurant in town. Leah was suspicious that a proposal might be coming, but Will threw her off. The week before, Will told Leah his parents were coming in town to celebrate their anniversary. This turned their date night into an anniversary dinner for his parents. When the day came, the couple went to pick up his parents at their AirBnb. When they got there, Leah realized his parents weren’t there. Will suggested that they walk to the backyard, where there was a path to the river. As they were walking, they approached a table and chairs along with a bouquet of flowers, a framed picture of them, a journal, and a ring box. Will read from the journal, then got down on one knee and asked Leah to marry him. After taking in the moment for a while, they went to a friend’s house where several of their friends and families were there to celebrate. Then, they began planning their elegant wedding.
Leah came across Woodbine Mansion on Instagram several months before getting engaged. It was exactly the setting of the wedding she had always pictured. Leah followed their account and tucked the information away. Once the couple got engaged, Leah quickly reached out to schedule a tour. Once seeing it person, there was no hesitation. The couple booked the venue the very next day. Leah couldn’t be happier with their decision to get married at Woodbine Mansion. From the tent, the bridal room, library and trellis – it was the perfect setting for their elegant wedding.
The moments Leah reminisces on the most are their ceremony and their first dance. Right before the ceremony, Leah remembers there was a sudden calm. Both Will and Leah felt like they were just taking in every moment of of the day. Getting to see one another, sharing their vows, standing in front of all of their favorite people – those were the moments where everything felt right to them. All they could do was smile or cry happy tears! Their first dance was a joyful moment. It was in that moment that Leah felt like everything came together. All that they had talked about for months was finally happening. They were able to soak up being husband and wife and fully take in the environment of their elegant wedding day.
Leah and Will had many stunning statement pieces. From the hanging florals over the head table, the seating chart, the bars, but Leah’s absolute favorite was the cake display. The set up of the cakes, the flowers, and the background of the fireplace and chandelier was so grand. The display caught guests attention as they walked through mansion. Leah felt like the scene encapsulated their elegant wedding decor perfectly. Will had an Astro’s themed groom’s cake to showcase his personality. Another cake was decorated with a draping bow inspired by Leah’s reception dress. The third cake was a 4-tiered, white cake with flowers piped all over featuring the couple’s monogram and crest.
Leah and Will had a dream team of vendors for their elegant wedding day. Their photographer, Britni Dean, stood out to the couple as going above and beyond for. Not only in her quality and quantity of photos, but as the person they spent the most time with on their wedding day, she was the best fit! Leah and Will still have people who tell us that the food and cake was some of the best they’ve had at a wedding, thanks to Austin Catering and Iced Cakes!. Their videographer, Shelby Sullins, is high on their recommendation list to friends getting married soon! Leah and Will share that their most asked question from guests is the name of our band, The Night Owls. People loved them! And of course, Leah was beyond thrilled with their florist, Reiley and Rose. Flowers were a top priority of the couple, and Reiley and Rose exceeded all expectations. The mother of one of the flower girls was watching the set up of the floral installations, and told Leah that their wedding looked like the one from Father of the Bride. Leah says that is the best compliment she could’ve received.
Last but absolutely not least, other wonderful vendors include Design to Flourish, who created all of the beautiful statement signage pieces, and Hannah Zahner Beauty who glammed the ladies.
“Take the time to put together an amazing vendor team! We relied heavily on the recommendations of people we trusted but mainly of the vendors we had already hired or from Bianca. It really meant a lot when we had vendors who had worked with someone in the past and recommended them to us – those are the people you want to hire because there is an established trust there. Overall, take your time to research and don’t hire someone just because they’re available or you feel pressured to sign a contract. Most likely, you’ll know when someone is a good fit, so lean into that feeling.” – Leah, Bride
“I truly didn’t have to worry about anything the day of our wedding. I had complete trust in Bianca and her team through the whole day. It was so special being able to be in the bridal suite and look out the windows to see everything coming together knowing that she had everything covered. I also loved being able to collaborate with Bianca in the planning process, to lean on her knowledge in the areas I knew nothing about and to dream up the pretty things I was so excited for.” – Leah, Bride
