Have your wedding vendors worked at your venue before? Our team has over 20 cumulative years of experience in the wedding industry, and can confidently say the answer doesn’t matter! As someone who is newly engaged, we’re sure you are full of questions for your potential vendors. One of the first questions you think of might be, “Have you worked at my venue?” While this seems like it might be an important question to ask your vendors, the answer really doesn’t matter that much. Here’s why it’s okay if your vendors haven’t worked at your venue before.
Any professional vendor is just that – a professional. Wedding vendors are especially familiar with adapting to anything. Working at a new venue is just a new, exciting challenge. When considering vendors, pay attention to whether or not they seem confident with unpredictable circumstances. Do they seem knowledgeable and prepared to handle anything that might come up? Build a vendor team of people you trust to have your best interest at heart. Read past client reviews if you aren’t confident in your ability to judge this yourself.
Even if we’ve been to your venue countless times, we will have final walk through on site. Your final walk through is a time for us to all get accustomed with the space. We’ll make sure we know all the logistics, create your floor plan, and go over all the little details. This is the perfect time for us to connect with the venue manager and ensure we are 100% prepared for your wedding day! Additionally, if there are any other vendors who need to see the space prior to your wedding day, they are more than welcome to attend. Sometimes florists or other big item vendors might need to visit the venue in person to make sure they’ll be able to accommodate your wishes. We’re a team here – and help out other vendors whenever we can!
There’s a first time for everything. Have your vendors worked at your wedding venue? Maybe not! With so many wedding venues, and new ones popping up all the time, we might not have had the chance to visit yours before! Your vendors are just as excited to scope out a new space as they are to work at their tried and true favorites. As vendors we love finding new spaces to work in. We also aren’t above asking other vendors for any tips or tricks they might know about the venue. Sometimes it takes a few visits to know the best spot for a first look, or where sunset photos glow the most! We always seek new information, even for venues we’ve worked with before.
While it may seem important for your vendor to be familiar with your venue, there are much more important things. Focus more on if your personality meshes with the vendor, and if they provide the services you need within your budget. As mentioned before, your vendor can familiarize themselves with the venue prior to your day. They can’t change their personality, or their services. Find someone you are excited to work with! You’ll be much happier with a vendor you get along with, whether or not they have worked at your venue before.
So what do you ask your vendors? Let us teach you! We love helping our full planning clients find the best vendors for their wedding day. You don’t need to worry about if your wedding vendors worked at your venue before. We provide all of our couples with our list of preferred vendors, which is full of people we know do a great job and love working with!
