Besides plan weddings, what exactly does a wedding planner do? There are more wedding planner tasks than you probably think! Of course, wedding planners help design your wedding and secure vendors. We’ll make sure the wedding day runs smoothly and you get to enjoy yourself. Wedding planners exist to make your big day seamless and stress-free! Making that happen includes so many more wedding planner tasks that are less obvious!
First and foremost, whether you book us for coordination or full planning, we set you up for success. You’ll receive access to our planning guide, which is wedding planning gold. From preferred vendors, to general hiring timelines and tips and tricks – this guide will be your BFF! Throughout your engagement, our wedding planning tasks include check in emails to ensure you’re on track. Whether you’ve booked full planning or coordination, you can rest assured you have as much support as you need! Closer to your wedding day, your wedding planners will meet with you at your venue for a final walkthrough. This meeting allows us to chat through everything. We’ll go over the layout and flow of the day, and discuss the timeline as well. From here, you’ll be pretty hands off as we finalize all the details with your vendors!

As your wedding planners, we adjust all the little details until everything is just right. We’ll pin all your boutonnieres so they are straight and secure. You won’t have to worry about bouquets either – we’ll dry each one off before you need to hold them! Throughout the day you’ll find us fluffing dresses, adjusting bowties, and making sure everyone is comfortable along the way. On a hot day, we’ll be nearby with a fan in hand making sure you don’t sweat off your makeup before the ceremony begins. When it’s cold, we’ll be there with HotHands ready for your wedding party to keep away the chill. In the event of rain – you guessed it – your wedding planners will be there with photogenic clear umbrellas ready to go.

In addition to making sure you look and feel your best, your wedding planners are also behind the scenes keeping an eye on your decor. Making our rounds through the dinner tables, ensuring linens are laid properly, flatware is straight, and your chairs are pushed in just so is a huge chunk of our wedding planner tasks. Each napkin will be folded to perfection. Your florist is going to make sure your flowers are absolutely stunning, but we’ll offer them another set of eyes to make sure your arch is centered down the aisle and you can’t see any mechanics holding the blooms together.

One of our favorite wedding planner tasks is being the last to wish you good luck before you head down the aisle, and the first to congratulate you after you are pronounced newlyweds. Of course, we’ll have your drink of choice waiting for you, too!

From beginning to end, your wedding planners are your guide. We’ll ensure makeup is running smoothly, get everyone lined up for ceremony, and bring you champagne before toasts begin. You won’t have to worry about a thing. We’ll make sure each event throughout the day flows seamlessly, and you never have to guess when something’s about to happen. Don’t worry, we’ll also make sure your friends, family and vendors are ready for those big moments, too.

At the end of the night, your planner will wish you well as you head off with your new spouse. Then, we’ll stay behind and ensure all of your personal decor is packed up. We’ll have had you assign someone you trust to take any belongings, like gifts, guest book, card box, etc. Once everything is packed and ready to go, we’ll help load it into the assigned person’s vehicle. Outside of our standard wedding planner tasks, sometimes we’re able to get behind the scenes photos throughout the day. We’ll be sure to always share those with you so you can relive the memories while waiting for your photographer’s professional content.
Ultimately, our main wedding planning task is to make sure you have the best day ever! We want you to be fully present in your day and not worried about a single detail. We want you to have the peace of mind that we’ve got your back and everything under control.
