From meeting on Hinge, to a surprise proposal “tour,” Lauren and Micah’s love story is nothing short of beautiful. The couple had their romantic, outdoor wedding in June, on a day that was supposed to be raining, but turned out to be perfect instead.
Months prior, Micah had told Lauren about a trip he was taking with his friends in September. He convinced her they were going canoeing, and even sent her fake photos of him packing his bags for the trip! The day of the trip, Lauren got ready to go out to dinner with her roommate… or so she thought! While they were on their way to the restaurant, they passed the Brewery where their first date happened. Micah was outside with flowers! Lauren knew right away what was going on, and the “Micah & Lauren Tour of Austin” began. They went to all the special spots in town, bringing out a few sentimental tears. The last stop of the tour was at a park they frequented to watch the sunset, but this time, Micah proposed! Afterwards, they headed back to his mom’s house, where all their friends and family (most of whom live out of town) were waiting to congratulate and shower them!
The couple chose Lucky Arrow Retreat as their venue not only because of it’s beauty, but because they wanted a space where everyone could stay on property and keep the party going all weekend long! While their original plans were to have a mostly outdoor wedding day, things changed a bit when the forecast started showing a high chance of rain. They reevaluated, rented some tents, and adjusted their decor accordingly. Lauren says the tented rooftop turned out even more gorgeous than she could have imagined!
Micah’s favorite memory of the day was watching Lauren walk down the aisle. The couple opted not to do a first look, so the emotions were high when he finally got to see his beautiful bride. Another one of Micah’s favorite parts of the day was dancing with all his friends and family, but in particular, crowd surfing to Mr. Brightside!
Lauren’s favorite part of the wedding was their private vow reading before the ceremony. Since they chose not to see each other before walking down the aisle, the pair stood back to back and read their personal vows to one another. The moment was so romantic and meaningful.
Not only was their outdoor venue beautiful – but the vendor team was such a hit! Remi & Gold knocked it out of the park with their romantic florals. The arch in particular was really special to Lauren. Micah and her built the arch, his mother created the macramé piece, and Remi & Gold added the final touches with some stunning flowers. The macrame is now hanging in Lauren and Micah’s house as decoration!
DJ Jonathan with Live Oak DJs was another awesome vendor. Lauren says their reception had the best dance party she’s ever experienced, and many of her guests agreed! Some guests were so thrilled with the experience he created for them, that they hope to book him for their own weddings!
Their caterer, Austin Daily Press did an amazing job as well. The food was so good and the price was hard to beat. Lauren says the team was wonderful to work with and delighted them from the tasting to the presentation to the flavors of the food! She loved how creative their menu was.
Lauren’s advice to future brides is to not stress. It will be a happy and perfect day no matter what. She was so worried about the rain, but come wedding day, the weather was perfect and the Plan B turned out beautiful! Her romantic, outdoor wedding couldn’t have been any better.
