The holiday season is right around the corner! While the holidays are obviously a popular gift-giving time, it is also peak engagement season. We have the perfect gift guide with personalized and unique gift ideas for every engaged or newlywed couple on your Christmas list. I’ll help you navigate through some amazing gift options for every couple on your list! While it may be fun to shop freely, keep in mind that many couples will have a registry. This registry is literally a list of what they want! If you choose to not buy from that list, keep it on hand so you don’t buy a similar item. Similar but different will only lead to duplicates for the couple!
1. Personalized Wine Bottles
You can never go wrong with a bottle of wine. These bottles by Mark & Graham elevate a classic Cab Sauv with a special touch. You can have the bottle engraved with Mrs. & Mrs., Mr. & Mr., or Mr. & Mrs. – so there’s something for every couple. You can also include their wedding date and last name! Don’t forget personalized wine glasses to match.
2. Personalized Home Decor
This gift is best suited for a recently married couple. If you can get your hands on the couples vows, have them turned into artwork for their home! What a special gift to remind them of their promises to each other. Bonus points for supporting a small business on Etsy when you order!
Similar to vows, a quote from their First Dance song would be sentimental and personal.
A personalized welcome mat is a sweet gift to commemorate their newly shared last name.
If they haven’t gotten married yet, consider a Mapiful of somewhere meaningful to their relationship. Or, a Night Sky map for their future wedding night or the night they met. The Night Sky maps are available either as a canvas or framed art. Both options are simple to design and personalize!
3. Personalized Attire
What’s better than a nice tie? A customized one! Michelle Carter Studio creates these super unique and personalized ties. While the ties already come in stunning fabrics, adding a photo of the couple or of something/someone meaningful is sure to stand out. Everytime the tie is worn, they’ll be reminded of you, and of the photo!
4. Printed Photos for Hard Copy Memories
One of my favorite gifts has been a Chatbooks album. These high quality books are the new photo albums! You can choose between hard or soft covers, and customize each page. They also have a bunch of other gifts too, like canvas prints or postcards! The easiest way to customize for others is to go through their social media pages. Screenshot and crop, or otherwise save, the photos you’d like to include. To mix it up, I recommend creating some pages on Canva.com with quotes or text and save as a PNG to use in the book. The creation process on Chatbooks is super easy. They also have online assistance if you need it.
Another idea would be to reach out to their engagement and/or wedding photographer and have a canvas printed for them to display in their home.
5. Gift an Experience
Book the couple a honeymoon photoshoot! If you know where they’ll be off to, find a photographer in the area and book them a mini session. This is even easier if they have a travel coordinator you can plan with! Otherwise, make sure you give the couple a heads up before they leave. This way, they’ll be able to pack for the shoot and adjust their schedules if necessary. If a honeymoon shoot is too complicated, find a local photographer to do a shoot when they return!
Give the gift of date night! DateBox Club is a monthly subscription box specifically for date nights. They have several variations, from classic, to digital date night, or family centered boxes. The boxes are cheaper than going out, and will come with everything necessary for the date! Each date is designed to help the couple connect and communicate. They also come with a little surprise each month! Here’s an example of what their Game Night box includes:
6. Gifts that speak to their hobbies
Something personalized that’s unique to their interests. You know the couple best. Do they love cooking? Go for a customized cutting or charcuterie board! If they love travel, create personalized luggage tags. The couple who seems to always be going on picnics could use a nice basket or new blanket! (Psst, Fortnum & Mason “hampers” – aka picnic baskets – are to die for! They aren’t all customizable, but they have a ton of themed options. These are great if you want to splurge!) Etsy has a wide variety of customizable goods to choose from. Mark & Graham also has a wide variety of options, from more affordable to luxurious.
7. The Humorous Gift
Gone are the days of piles of magazines in the restroom entertainment! For the funny couple, this bathroom guest book is sure to be a hit. Their guests will undoubtedly be entertained, and the couple can read their entries after the visit is over. This brings a typical guest book to a much funnier and memorable level for all!
